Summary:

Dunfermline & District Accordion & Fiddle Club hosted gigs eight times this year.

As 'New Wave' began to sweep the country, management of the Kinema were slow to catch on and a 'Vibrators' gig booking was cancelled early in this year (date unknown) as was a 'Slaughter and the Dogs' gig (10/09/1977). However 'The Skids' were eventually accepted and played twice in the September/October before 'The Clash' appeared in the October with 'The Skids' in support.

However ... 'The Rezillos' beat them all to a Kinema Gig in June!

Highlights this year included:

Cado Belle
The Clash
The Dead End Kids
Richard Hell & The Voidoids
The J.A.L.N. Band
Medicine Head
The Rezillos
The Skids

The Sex Pistols 'God Save the Queen' was released today, selling 200,000 in one week. Four days later on the 31st the BBC banned the single citing "gross bad taste". The IBA commented that playing the single on radio would breach section 4:1:A of the Broadcasting Act. It reached No.2 in the UK. Many claim it was actually No.1.
